Winter Retreat
Identity Project is hosting our fourth winter retreat the second weekend in January at Camp Ohio. On the retreat we get to fellowship with our brothers and sisters, stay up till all hours of the morning talking and having fun, and learning more about the Lord and His work together. Last year we covered a teaching series on witnessing by Ray Stedman, a famous pastor from California. This year we will be covering a series by Francis Schaeffer: “How Should We Then Live,” which is based on the book he wrote by the same title. Schaeffer exposes how people have distorted what we call “Christianity.” The faith that started out as an organic movement based on relationships and the simple truth of Jesus’ sacrifice and love has now become an institutionalized religion based on rules and traditions. The series will help us to figure out what happened and how to live in this age with “Christianity” far removed from what it was meant to be. It is vital to know how the faith became so corrupt in order to reach out to people of all kinds and battle against the religious preconception people now have with Christianity.
